About the Project
At NLOWE, we are committed to driving systemic change to support women entrepreneurs in Newfoundland and Labrador. Through our new initiative, WAGE – Gender Bias Project: Addressing Gender Bias in the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem, we aim to create a more inclusive and equitable environment where women-owned businesses can prosper. Over the next three years, this project will foster mentorship, reduce gender bias in entrepreneurship-related policies, and unlock new opportunities for women entrepreneurs to drive economic growth and innovation.

The Project:
Our Approach
This initiative incorporates a Gender-Based Analysis Plus (GBA+) framework, ensuring that intersectional factors like race, age, and ability are considered to address systemic challenges comprehensively. Key strategies include:
- Conducting environment scans and primary research to document gender biases.
- Collaborating with educational institutions, business organizations, and community partners to create meaningful change.
- Implementing actionable tools and strategies for fostering equity in entrepreneurship.

This project is more than a program—it’s a movement to redefine entrepreneurship in Newfoundland and Labrador. By addressing systemic barriers, we aim to:
