    Exploration Series. The Newfoundland and Labrador Organization of WOmen Entrepreneurs (NLOWE) is pleased to present the Exploration Series, a series of events intended to provide relevant information and an understanding of supplying to the province's major projects. The Exploration Series will be presented in four sessions, designed to take participants from an introduction to the major projects and the opportunities available to sitting at the table with an industry contact. Session 1 is entitled Building the Framework, and will take place on Tuesday, September 17, 2013, 8 o'clock a.m. to 1 o'clock p.m. at the Sheraton Hotel Newfoundland. Session 2 is entitled Navigating the Supply Chain and will take place on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at 8 o'clock a.m. to 1 o'clock p.m. at the Holiday Inn in St. John's. Session 3 is entitled Leveraging the Opportunities and will take place on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at 8 o'clock a.m. to 1 o'clock p.m. at the NLOWE Training Room on the 2nd floor of Regatta Plaza 2 in St. John's. Session 4 is entitled Making the Connection and will take place on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at 8 o'clock a.m. to 1 o'clock p.m. at the Holiday Inn in St. John's.     Attend a National Conference with NLOWE. Opening Doors, 5th annual WEConnect Canada National Conference, November 4-5, 2013 in Toronto, Ontario

    NLOWE is currently recruiting participants from women-owned businesses to join a delegation that will take part in WEConnect Canada's 2013 Annual Conference, "Opening Doors," Nov. 4-5 in Toronto.

    Eligible companies will have access to pre-conference training and may qualify for a travel stipend.

    "Opening Doors" is a national event that brings together women business owners, corporations and government representatives to network and do business.

    Interested parties must complete the Expression of Interest form and fax it to Deborah Youden at 709.754.0079.

    Deadline for Expressions of Interest is Friday, Oct. 4.

    NLOWE will be taking a group of businesswomen from Newfoundland and Labrador to participate in business meetings and conference in Miami, Florida October 15- 18, 2013. This will be in consultation with a Regional Partner Organization of WBENC (Women’s Business Enterprise National Council): Women’s Business Development Council of Florida whose territory includes Florida (minus the panhandle), Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands.  It will involve outside business matchmaking meetings with companies/corporations.

    Opportunities will also include meeting with other women business owners and corporate buyers as well as specific training and focused networking.

    Deadline for expressions of interest from women business owners is Friday, August 16.

    The Newfoundland and Labrador Organization of Women Entrepreneurs  (NLOWE) seeks the services of an in-market consultant for the delivery of professional consulting services related to International Business Development for three trade missions for women business enterprises (referred to hereafter as WBEs):

     

    1.  Oct 16-18, 2013 in the Miami (South Florida) Market

     

    2.  April 7-10, 2014 in New Orleans (South Eastern United States) Market

     

    3.  June 2014 in Philadelphia

     

    We will accept proposals for either one, two, or three trade missions.  Working dates in this Request for Proposals (RFP) refer to the first trade mission and will be adjusted for the others.

    The deadline for bidders to ask questions pertaining to this RFP is noon (Newfoundland Standard Time), Monday, August 5, 2013. Any substantive questions with replies will be shared with each consultant expressing an interest in this project.
