    The Newfoundland and Labrador Organization of Women Entrepreneurs  (NLOWE) seeks the services of an in-market consultant for the delivery of professional consulting services related to International Business Development for a trade mission April 1-5, 2013 in the New Orleans Market (South Eastern United States), for women business enterprises.

    The deadline for bidders to ask questions pertaining to this RFP is noon (Newfoundland Standard Time), Monday, January 28, 2013. Any substantive questions with replies will be shared with each consultant expressing an interest in this project.

    NLOWE’s mandate is to provide quality training for women business owners in Newfoundland and Labrador.

    To help achieve our mandate NLOWE is seeking expressions of interest from qualified individuals to provide training for international business and export development on behalf of NLOWE. Areas of expertise may include but are not limited to:

    -Elevator Pitch for the International Audience
    -Designing a Social Media Strategy for Your Global Business
    -Finance and Accounting for International Business
    -Constructing a Business Proposal for Export Sales
    -Business Profiles & Capability Statements
    -Getting Beyond the Border: Customs and Regulatory Compliance

    Potential training opportunities may include one on one and small group training.

    NLOWE will be taking a group of businesswomen from Newfoundland and Labrador to participate in business meetings in New Orleans, Louisiana, April 1- 5, 2013. This will be in consultation with a Regional Partner Organization of WBENC (Women’s Business Enterprise National Council): Women’s Business Development Council south whose territory includes Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee & the Florida Panhandle.

    Opportunities will focus on international business development and include meeting with women business owners and corporate buyers as well as specific training, focused networking, matchmaking meetings, and a business fair.

    Deadline for expressions of interest from women business owners is Thursday, January 31.

Women-owned businesses on the Burin peninsula are open for business and are inviting you to stop-by to learn more about the businesses in your community and enter your name for an NLOWE prize draw. Members and staff of NLOWE will also be popping in for a visit.     NLOWE will be taking a group of businesswomen from Newfoundland and Labrador to participate in business meetings in Deerfield, Florida, December 4-8, 2012. This trade mission will be in consultation with a Regional Partner Organization of WBENC (Women's Business Enterprise National Council): the Women's Business Development Council of Florida. Territories covered by this organization include Florida (except the Panhandle), Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. It will also involve outside matchmaking meetings with companies/corporations.

    Opportunities will include meeting with other women business owners and corporate buyers as well as specific training and focused networking.

    The deadline for applications from women business owners is Friday, Oct. 5.

    NLOWE is currently recruiting participants from women-owned businesses to join a delegation that will take part in WEConnect Canada's 2011 Annual Conference, "Opening Doors," Nov. 12-13 in Toronto.

    Eligible companies will receive pre-conference training and may qualify to have up to 50 per cent of registration and travel costs covered.

    "Opening Doors" is a national event that brings together women business owners, corporations and government representatives to network and do business.

    Important: Completing this online registration DOES NOT register you for the conference or automatically register you for NLOWE's delegation. This online process is your Expression of Interest to participate in the delegation, and you will be contacted to follow up on your expressed interest.

    Workshops will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 18 at Holiday Inn in St. John's and on Wednesday, Sept. 19, at Weston's at the Airport in Gander.  For both events, networking and registration will take place from 8:30 a.m.-9:00 a.m. and the workshop will be held from 9:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
