Award Categories

Start-Up Award - recognizes an entrepreneur responsible for a profitable business that has been in operation for a minimum of two years to a maximum of five.

Innovation Award - recognizes an entrepreneur whose business is employing innovation in technology, processes to grow or is having success in international markets. She has recognized a new market, product, service or opportunity and has led the way.

Community Impact Award - recognizes an entrepreneur whose business has had a significant impact on the local community economically and/or socially.

Visionary Award - recognizes an entrepreneur who has successfully overcome challenges and has capitalized on opportunities to create a flexible and responsive business that has delivered profitable growth for more than two years. She is highly adaptable, and is a forward-thinker who “thinks outside the box.”

Youth Entrepreneur of the Year - recognizes a young entrepreneur who has been in business for at least two years and is profitable. She must be 35 years of age or younger as of March 31, 2008.

Entrepreneurial Excellence Award - recognizes an entrepreneur who has made a significant impact on the economy. She must have been in operating control of a business (es) for at least 10 years and should be actively involved in a business enterprise. Her success serves as an inspiration for other women in business and continues to stand as a model of experience and commitment.
